Privacy Policy

Emond Montgomery Publications (EMP) is committed to protecting the privacy of each person who visits our site. Please take a few minutes to read our Privacy Policy.

Collection of personal information

We never collect any personal information (such as email address, name, or street address) unless a visitor has chosen to provide that information to us. We do not use techniques that collect personal information without your knowledge. We always clarify why we are collecting any personal information, and how it will be used.

To register on our site and access the content, you will be required to provide a valid email address. We will not share that email address with anyone without your express permission.

We do not sell or provide any personal information, submitted through our website, to third parties without your consent. (In the unlikely event that EMP Ltd., or substantially all of its assets, is acquired, our customer lists will be one of the transferred assets.)

EMP does provide online access to our materials to minors; however, we do not at any time knowingly gather personal information from minors. Access is arranged through institutional licenses. EMP encourages parents to be aware of online activities of their children and ensure that they never give out personal information without permission.

Use of non-personal information

When you visit the EMP website, we may automatically record certain non-personal information about your visit. Visits to our subscription area are tracked by IP address, host name, and time of visit, and subscribers' use of our online publications is logged in order to monitor compliance with the terms and conditions of the applicable licence.

Additional non-personal information we collect helps us to understand how traffic flows through our site. It also assists in our planning for new content and online services. We may provide summary statistics about traffic patterns, consisting of anonymous aggregate data, to a reputable third party. These statistics do not contain personally identifiable information.

Cookies are small pieces of code that are sent to your computer that allow certain information about you to be retained on our site. The only usage of cookies on the EMP Bookshelf is to allow you to remain logged in if you close your browser. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies but you can change this feature in your browser without significantly affecting your usage of our site.

Email for marketing purposes

From time to time, we send email messages to people who have registered on the EMP Bookshelf. We use these messages to announce special offers on EMP products and services, as well as to distribute general news affecting the educational publishing industry.

Every email message that you receive includes an email address where you can respond if you wish to be removed from our mailing list. On request, we will promptly remove your name and email address, as well as your mailing address and telephone number, from our mailing list.

Links to other sites

You may find links to other websites in several areas of the EMP Bookshelf or in ebooks on the site. Our Privacy Policy applies only to the EMP Bookshelf site. Once you link to another site, you are subject to the privacy policy of that external site.

We recommend that you read the privacy policies of other websites, particularly if you provide personal information on those sites.

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. Regardless of later updates, we will abide by the privacy practices described in this Policy at the time you provided us with your information.
